Christopher Ragsdale is an engineer and entrepreneur who is always looking for new ways to improve industries by using outside perspectives. His ultimate vision is to transform the way bioscience research is done making it accessible to people around the world. He hopes that this work will enable a rapid expansion of synthetic biology research and development, the potential benefits of which can improve the lives of billions.
As the CEO and Product Architect of Exogensis, Chris leads the business and technology development efforts and is charged with building the company from the ground up. This includes infrastructure and website development, team building, developing business relations, leading the systems development of Exogensis products, and heading the fundraising efforts.
Chris is a graduate from the University of Maryland with a Masters of Aerospace Engineering with a focus on systems engineering. While attending graduate school he worked on projects including low cost lunar access using existing launch vehicles, new launch vehicle design and mission planning for a space solar power system, and manned re-entry vehicle and flight profile design. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with dual Bachelor’s Degrees in both Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. While in undergraduate school Chris worked with interdisciplinary teams to develop and test unmanned aerial vehicles and zinc-air battery technologies for automotive use among other projects.
Chris has experience beyond the classroom as well from his work at Spectrum Technology Group, Inc., where he primarily worked on submarine systems development for the U.S. Navy. While at Spectrum he took a lead role in expanding the company’s infrastructure including web development and the procurement and implementation of both server and workstation systems. From this experience, he has become well versed in information technology systems, computer aided engineering and design platforms, and project management techniques. He intends to leverage this experience to streamline the corporate infrastructure and product development processes.
Chris enjoys using SolidWorks and Siemens NX to design new products, is well versed in MATLAB, and is passionate about entrepreneurship and technology.
Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer & Director of Marketing
Diane Feliciano is a marketing and business operations strategist who has devoted her career to building profitable and socially conscious Life Science businesses within a framework of corporate and social responsibility. Her vision is to look beyond the business silos that often exist within the Life Science market and build an infrastructure or platform that would enable the different stakeholders along the business continuum to work seamlessly and profitably together to better serve the greater good.
As COO at Exogensis, Diane holds the overall strategic and operational responsibility for all company programs/initiatives and works with the CEO in the development of organizational plans and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance and growth of functions and/or business units. In addition, as Director of Marketing, she is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and achieving marketing targets including business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales; building and leading the marketing team; and working closely with Product Management to hone features, positioning and price points to ensure product is demand driven.
Diane holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from Cornell University and an MBA in Marketing and Business Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Diane spent the early part of her career as an Analytical Laboratory Director and Marketing Director in a Contract Research Laboratory that served the Biotech/Pharma and Microelectronics Industries. She went on to a successful career at Siemens Industry where she developed and led the company’s first Life Science Center of Excellence, which won both the U.S. and Global Siemens top+ Awards for Sales Stimulation. Her final position at Siemens was that of Executive Director of Marketing, managing a staff of more than 50 people. More recently, her entrepreneurial drive and passion for enabling STEM-disciplined start-ups and small- to medium-sized companies achieve top- and bottom-line growth led her to establish a Strategic Marketing and Business Management Consulting Business in the Northern California Bay Area.
Diane intends on leveraging her years of progressive experience in operational management and strategic marketing in the Life Science Industry to drive strong, sustainable growth at Exogensis while at the same time working to transform the current business model in the Synthetic Biology market.
